Alonso Back, No Turkey For Torres
Xabi Alonso & Fernando Torres
Xabi Alonso is back in the Liverpool squad for tomorrow’s Champions League encounter with Besiktas but Fernando Torres is unlikely to play any part, with doctors at Liverpool deciding Torres has to stick around Merseyside to build up his fitness after taking a knock on international duty with Spain.
Having missed the clash with Everton at the weekend there is still a chance that Torres can make it to one of this season’s highlights in Sunday’s encounter with Arsenal - hopefully anyway!
It will be nice to see Alonso back in action as well, I’m hoping he’ll make it to the pitch tomorrow as Liverpool need everyone on their A-Game to take three points in Turkey and make a good stab at finishing in the top two of the group. A draw at this stage, after three games, is simply not good enough.
