Fair Play To Steve Finnan
One of the problems with these international breaks, outside of the fact that it makes activity on LiverpoolAccess.com that bit quieter, is that you’ve got to sit and watch Ireland play. Under Steve Staunton that’s just become a chore in itself. Whether it’s the management, players, or the strange combination of both - it’s just not happening and no matter what’s on the TV, there’s something more interesting than watching an Irish match at present.
That said, fair play to Steve Finnan last night who saved Ireland’s graces and blushes (and likely Stan from an immediate sacking) by bagging a late goal last night for Ireland as the national side struggled against lowly Cyprus.
Finnan has been solid for Liverpool over the past few seasons and the same for Ireland when he’s on the pitch. Nice to know you can count on a Red to get the job done.
