Red For Life, Finnan Bags A New Contract
Steve Finnan is the next in the line of Liverpool regular features to put pen to paper on a new deal as the Limerick lad has been awarded a new three year contract for the Reds.
That said, nothing has been inked yet with Finnan away in Hong Kong for the Asia Trophy but is expected to sign by the weekend.
Finnan joined Liverpool from Fulham following a period at the club where he’d been named as the player of the year in the right back position in the Premier League, also having not missed a game that season for Fulham. I’ve always thought he was a great buy, the purchase really allowing Jamie Carragher to develop in the centre and further strengthen the defense. He’s got no bother in going forward on the right flank and knows only too well how to hang a great pass into the box.
At 31 I reckon it is safe to say that Finnan will be a ‘Red for life’.
