Top Seeded Again

Ah, while we wait on the transfer news to start rolling in (I’m climbing the bloody walls at this point), it is good to see that we’re still among the top seeds in the Champions League - third highest in Europe I might add, behind AC Milan (this year’s winner) and Barcelona (last year’s winner and this year’s casualty at the hands of Liverpool). Chelsea’s millions have finally started to pay off too as they’ve made the top seeds meaning all four British clubs (Liverpool, Arsenal, United & Chelsea) are in the seeds along with both Milan sides (AC and Inter), Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Of course it means that we avoid AC, Inter, Madrid or Barca in the group but it bodes well for Chelsea who (thankfully for them) won’t be paired with Barca in the group stage next year.

Who knows, another trip towards the final this year would go a long way towards keeping us in those top seeds.
