Game Day: Liverpool vs Chelsea

Its on home soil, its Liverpool vs Chelsea and I won’t get anywhere near the game as I’ll be attending Bar Camp in Waterford so its a quick note this morning.

This game means so much to both sides. Rivalry in the last two seasons has been massive, not forgetting the previous season again where Chelsea pipped Liverpool to fourth place on the last day of the season - that one still pisses me off. Chelsea are in a rut though. Their standards are slipping, they’ve got problems with snitches, they’ve got problems with strikers, a dodgy defence, a goal keeper in a helmet, problems with management and more. Of course, it could be one of the greatest mind games we’ve ever seen!

Liverpool, up and down season, need the win. Simple as that. Whether Chelsea will bend over and give us the win is doubtful but I reckon we’re in with a good shot. Home soil advantage, not half the amount of problems that Chelsea have, so far so good.

Stick Reina in goal, keep it simple and play it straight. Clean sheet. There’s a nice bit of creativity going on in the front lines and Crouch could be the answer to a goal against Chelsea’s funky backline. Couple in Kuyt or Bellamy - or even better, sneak in Robbie Fowler. At this stage Chelsea won’t know what to do with him, on he comes, scores the winner and we can all watch the highlights in peace.

Either way, I’m annoyed I’m not getting to the game but hopefully the highlights will prove interesting. Going for the Liverpool win or at least a draw - the draw of course being better for us than Chelsea but we’ve got to get the points to keep ahead of the Gunners.

Kick off is 12:45 in the usual places.
