No Takeover Tuesday Today

Despite news reports to the contrary yesterday, the takeover of Liverpool won’t be going down today and according to TeamTalk it will be at least the end of the month if not into February before the deal is complete.

What this means of course is that there may well be no transfer money available to Liverpool for new signings outside of what the club is able to raise itself. Lord knows there’s one or two strays we could do with offloading but with two weeks left in the month and no sign any actual transfers on the table - barring the possible loan of Javier Mascherano - it will likely remain a quiet month for Liverpool.

Of course, there’s always Chelsea up next with a view to something happening in the aftermath. Failure again to hold our own against the current Premier League champions in the league campaign isn’t really an option and we know there’s certain players in the squad who will have a point to prove if they’re not to be next in line out the door.

Whatever the case - there’s no takeover today and I doubt at this stage there’ll be any new additions to the squad before the summer. Thoughts?
