New Keeper On Loan?


Word this lunchtime suggests that Liverpool are about to take Sampdoria’s Danielle Padelli on loan until the end of the season. I would have thought this a good move if we were still in the FA Cup and League Cup and needed further cover for Pepe Reina but given two erratic performances by Jerzy Dudek in the last week and Scott Carson’s stay in The Valley you can understand why a goalkeeper is on the shopping list for January.

The Italian U21 international is due to undergo a medical today, or so says the BBC, with no mention yet on the official club homepage.

    I think Jerzy will be shipped out this month for whatever price we can get. Rafa will be sorely disappointed Dudek failed to impress recently (to say the least) but will no doubt be glad to finally get rid. As many of us fans will also. Thanks for 5/5/2005 Jerzy, but time to move on.
