Chance To Redeem Ourselves

Tonight gives us the chance to redeem ourselves, I think, after the sham of an FA Cup game. Pretty disappointed to see Dudek in goal for the FA Cup (whatever about their choice of lineup for the Carling Cup) and the realisation of said disappointment was a bit frustrating to say the least.

Either way, we’re back at Anfield again this evening and this time its the turn of the Carling Cup. Word from the BBC has Jerzy Dudek down to keep his place so rusty and all as he looked against Arsenal at the weekend, he’ll be back between the sticks tonight. He might have a bit of backup in front of him with Sami Hyypia likely to get recalled along with Fabio Aurelio.

Cesc Fabregas should also return to the Arsenal fold along with William Gallas who has recovered from injury.

As Steven Gerrard pointed out on LiverpoolFC.tv today there will be a few weekends free for Liverpool now that we’ve one less competition to be concentrating on but that doesn’t mean we want the entire calendar to start freeing itself up. Tonight is a chance to put a firm grip on the Carling Cup and put Saturday’s disappointment behind us.

There’s got to be some kind of a drive to win some kind of silverware this season and here’s the perfect opportunity. Roll on kickoff.
