Van Persie, Fabregas Won’t Play

Good news for Liverpool fans ahead of the weekend is that Robin Van Persie and Cesc Fabregas won’t be taking part in the FA Cup clash against Arsenal, both having picked up five bookings thus far this season.

The two sides clash this Saturday and again on Tuesday for the Carling Cup (rescheduled due to fog before Christmas) so there is likely to be changes between the two games. Liverpool no doubt looking to hold on to the trophy should name a relatively unchanged side to the one who beat Bolton at the weekend while William Gallas and ‘The Beast’ Julio Baptista should return for The Gunners.

You’re dead right, I meant to update before the game. Congratulations on the win too.

Cheers, it was a good game. Got to ask question of Gerrard and Dudek for Rosicky’s second.

Got to ask a question of the decision to field Dudek in the first place. Once I saw his name on the team sheet I figured they’d already given up on the cup. Would have waited until the Carling Cup to play him if anything…

Yeah, strange. He looked very rusty, in fairness.

Still, there’s always Tuesday but if you asked either side to choose one of the two to win it would have been the FA.

Got something to say?
