According to Sky Sports, Rafa Benitez is firmly behind the DIC’s attempts to take control of Liverpool, revealing that “they want to do the right things for Liverpool in the future and this will not be a short-term deal”.

So long as fans realise that it IS a long-term plan and that if they actually do complete the takeover of the club that the Premier League trophy isn’t just going to land in our lap within the first season of trying. Whatever happens, I just hope it doesn’t upset the harmony at the club. We’ve had reasonable success over the last few years domestically and in Europe but that Premier League crown seems as evasive now as it ever did…
