Live: Liverpool 1 - 0 Reading
November 4, 2006
Just about a quarter of an hour into the Reading game and we’ve got our first goal thanks to Dirk Kuyt, the Dutchman slotting the ball home after Peter Crouch headed down for his striking partner, Hahnemann unable to do much about the shot to stop it.

Alonso Fit For Saturday, Bellamy Won’t Play
November 3, 2006
Xabi Alonso has been declared fit to play against Reading tomorrow after picking up a knock in European action during the week but Craig Bellamy will most likely sit out the game as he recovers from the calf strain he picked up over a week ago.
According to Rafa Benitez
Xabi is fit and available and while Craig is training again I won’t risk him against Reading. Mark Gonzalez is fit and available and we will see how Luis Garcia is on Saturday
If Luis Garcia is grand for tomorrow I’d expect him to start in place of Mark Gonzalez with Gonzalez making an appearance in the second half.

Reserves Beat Wigan 2-0
November 2, 2006
The reserve side managed to beat Wigan last night in good style running out 2-0 winners thus picking up their first win of the season as Besian Idrizaj and Paul Anderson struck to pick up the win at Robbin Park. David Roberts looked good in goal for the Reds, Roberts now seeing action as David Martin is being used on the bench for the first team but solid defensive displays and a goal in either half were enough to do the job for Gary Ablett’s men.

Liverpool Qualify For Second Round, Current State Of Affairs
November 1, 2006
I’m guessing we’ll be seeing the younger blood get a run out in Europe or maybe give Robbie a European start as we’ve qualified for the second round along with Bayern Munich, Valencia and PSV. Levski Sofia are gone from Chelsea’s group and Chelsea look pretty secure in qualifying top of their group followed by Bremen, but Barcelona is another story. Anything less than two wins in their next two games could spell serious trouble. Roma drew last night but look like they could well make it through to the second round.
Still, we’re qualifed and thats what matters right?
