Result: Arsenal 3 - 0 Liverpool

Can you say humiliation?

Thats how the club should feel after the performance at Emirates Stadium this afternoon, Liverpool walking away at a 3-0 defeate, lucky that it wasn’t more. After coming off a run of five straight wins and some fantastic home performances, Liverpool were truely outclassed away to Arsenal going in 1-0 down at the break before conceding another 2 goals through the second half.

The game might well have taken a different slant had Peter Crouch’s first half goal after a quarter of an hour stood, Crouch slotting home Alonso’s cross but to be ruled offside.

Flamini opened the scoring for Arsela just five minutes before the half slotting in from close range before Kolo TourĂ© added one of his own ten mintues into the second half when he collected the ball from Robin Van Persie and fired nicely past Pepe Reina for Arsenal’s second. Joy of joys then as ex-Chelsea man William Gallas popped up to score Arsenal’s third with ten minutes to go, the Frenchman unmarked in the box to fire home Van Persie’s corner.

Craig Bellamy came on in the second half and found the back of the net - again for Liverpool to see the goal ruled offside. Bad luck and missed chances spoiled Liverpool’s day but Arsenal were surely the deserving winners at 3-0.

Liverpool take on Middlesbrough next Saturday.
