Youth And Experience - Fowler Skippers Reds


Robbie Fowler is back and he’s back wearing the captain’s armband - the first time at Liverpool since 2001. Great to see Robbie back on the pitch yet again who spearheads the attack with Peter Crouch.

Its a mixture of youth and experience though on the field, Fowler leading the way as Agger and Paletta (making his debut) and Lee Peltier (also making his senior debut) anchoring down the defence while youngsters David Martin, Danny Guthrie and James Smith take spaces on the bench.

No sign of Paul Anderson (who I thought might well be included tonight) or Morocco’s Nabil El-Zhar.

Looking forward to tonight’s clash. Eight changes in total, strong enough side, should be an entertaining clash.
