Cissé Must Wait Until Christmas

According to the news this morning it looks like Djibril Cissé’s hopes of lining up for Marseille in October have been seriously dashed, Cissé having been told he’ll have to wait anywhere up to eight weeks and that it could be up to a month before he begins light training.

Cissé, on loan at Marseille, is expected (or at least I’m expecting it) to make his transfer back to Ligue 1 permanent in January when the transfer window re-opens. Although the last thing he needs is another injury setback, L’OM are certain that Cissé will start as their number one striker when he returns from injury.

I didn’t think the broken leg would keep him out this long. I mean missing the World Cup is enough but darn! Any updates on a possible return date?

No updates on the date directly but I would be surprised if he saw action before December, very surprised indeed. He’s a tough enough character though and he’s dying to make another go of it in France so, if he has enough determination, he might do well to get back to action in November.

Got something to say?
