Preview: Liverpool vs Galatasaray

Tonight marks the second of our Champions League group matches with Galatasary on the table tonight. 93 is the current number of matches that Rafa Benitez has gone without fielding the same team so a little more of the same is expected tonight and with changes on the cards, I’m hopeful that we’ll see Robbie Fowler involved at some stage tonight as the Liverpool squad is pretty much injury free.

We’ve had two good games in the last week, beating Newcastle 2-0 and then topping Spurs 3-0, recording two clean sheets in the process.

The last time the two sides met was five years ago, also in the Champions League. With all four teams on level pegging after Week 1, Week 2 means its still all to play for, only this time we’ve got no Emile Heskey to score against Galatasary. No harm there though. Sorry Emile Benitez is growing fond of the Bellamy-Kuyt partnership, as are some of the players so whether we see more of the same tonight is still up in the air at this stage of the evening. Peter Crouch has been used as a sub in his last four games so it might be nice to throw the big man up front to dislodge some of the Turkish defence.
