Kromkamp Making Way For Kuyt?
So it looks like Jan Kromkamp is next out the door in the Anfield exodus having only arrived at the club in the last few months to replace Josemi, though “having failed to impress” as the papers are putting it I would have to disagree - I don’t think we should rate him or cast him aside after just 5 months in the league.
Both PSV and Feyenoord are said to be chasing the Dutch right back and according to transfer reports, Kromkamp was initially offered in a cash p/x deal to land Dirk Kuyt earlier this summer but with PSV also upping their interest in the player who has made just 7 full starts for the club (plus 10 off the bench) my guess is that Benitez and co. will look to spark a bidding war for the player, thus lowering the asking price for Kuyt. With Liverpool seemingly the only real contenders for the player’s signature, Feyenoord make well have to reduce their asking price with the player so determined to leave for life in the Premier League.
The deal is set to be bolstered by almost an additional £3m with Djimi Traoré set to walk out of Anfield for £1m with both Wigan and Charlton looking at the French left back, while Antonio Barragan’s £1.7m move to Deportivo should hopefully be completed by this weekend.
