Bring Back Anelka
Thats what I say.
Furthermore, I don’t think that Liverpool should ever have let him go. I had the pleasure of seeing him first hand in action at Anfield for the Reds and I’ve always been a fan of the striker. Attitude aside, Anelka would be a gem for Liverpool and with all this talk about Aurelio, Paletta and now Danny Alves I must say I’m delighted to hear of possibilities surround Nic Anelka.
His time at Anfield was brief but he won the fans, and myself, over quite quickly and until recently has been featuring for Fenerbache who signed him during the January transfer window in 2005. Fenerbache themselves have decided to let Anelka go as the player is looking for a way back into the Premier League and the French national team. His ultimate hopes of course are to have some kind of role in the 2010 World Cup with France, the striker at that stage will be 32 and it would be his last possible chance of a World Cup outing with France.
While rumours are abound today that Portsmouth are lining up a loan move for the striker, I say bring him back. Tried and tested in the Premier League, tried and tested at Liverpool, Anelka would be an absolute ideal for Liverpool’s striking squad given that Morientes has just left and Djibril Cissé is currently packing his bags for France.
I say bring Nicolas Anelka back to Anfield, and bring him back quickly.
